IDW Announces Final 'Last Ronin' TMNT Miniseries and New Creative Team at Comic‑Con

At San Diego Comic‑Con 2026 IDW Publishing revealed that the third and final volume of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin trilogy will be released in summer 2027, bringing back the original creative team that launched the storyline. The concluding miniseries follows Casey Marie Jones, the daughter of iconic characters Casey Jones and April O’Neil, as she leads a new generation of turtles—Odyn, Moji, Yi and Uno—in a fight against the Foot Clan.

The convention also announced a transition in the main TMNT series: writer Gene Luen Yang will end his run with issue #24, and writer Matthew Rosenberg, alongside artist Juann Cabal, will take over starting with issue #25. Both changes were discussed in interviews, highlighting the franchise’s evolving creative direction.

These announcements signal the end of the current narrative arc and set the stage for the next phase of TMNT comics under IDW’s stewardship.
