Şişecam develops smart glass roof for Togg T10F

Şişecam is developing a smart, dimmable panoramic glass roof for the Togg T10F fastback model. Utilizing Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology, the system allows for regional light control, meaning different sections of the roof can be adjusted independently.

When electricity is applied, the liquid crystals align to make the glass transparent; when the current is removed, the crystals become disordered, creating a tinted or frosted appearance. This technology could potentially eliminate the need for traditional sliding sunshades.

To ensure seamless integration, Şişecam has also developed a dedicated Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This allows the glass to communicate with the vehicle’s software, enabling passengers to control light transparency via digital screens or voice commands.
