Iedo Barros proposes food donation model for Expoema

Iedo Barros, president of the Rural Producers Union of Codó (SINCODÓ), met with Ricardo Ataíde of the Association of Breeders of the State of Maranhão (Ascem) to propose a solidarity model for Expoema.

Following the success of the 52nd ExpoCodó, which collected non-perishable food in exchange for event tickets, the initiative aims to be adapted for Expoema. The proposal suggests that attendees donate 1 kilogram of food to gain access to major shows during the agricultural fair.

The project has received support from public security representatives and will undergo further discussion with the Maranhão State Government through the Secretariat of State for Social Development (SEDES) and the Secretariat of State for Culture (Secma) to ensure its viability.
