Mexican electoral authorities approve budgets and party accreditations

Various state electoral institutes in Mexico have taken significant administrative steps ahead of upcoming election cycles. In Oaxaca, the IEEPCO approved a 2027 budget draft totaling approximately 998 million pesos, which includes over 332 million pesos for political party prerogatives and significant allocations for local deputy, municipal, and gubernatorial processes.

In Jalisco, the IEPC officially accredited the national political parties Paz and SOMOS, enabling them to participate in the 2026-2027 local electoral process. Similarly, the IEEBC in Baja California approved the accreditation of the same two parties, Paz and Somos, following a verification of their national registration and local structural requirements.

In Hidalgo, legislative initiatives have been introduced to strengthen the autonomy of the State Electoral Tribunal (TEEH) by granting it the power to appoint its own internal control body, aiming to align with Supreme Court criteria for judicial independence.
