IEG presents 'Casa dell'Astronauta' at Beyond Exploration Expo
At the first edition of the Beyond Exploration Expo (BEX) at the Rimini Expo Centre, IEG is presenting 'Casa dell'Astronauta'. This immersive project explores the future of human life in extreme environments, such as orbiting stations or the Moon, focusing on how people will work, eat, and maintain health in space.
The exhibition highlights technologies that are already providing benefits on Earth. Key participants include Axiom Space and Thales Alenia Space, the latter of which is showcasing the Multi-Purpose Habitation lunar module developed for the Artemis program through cooperation between NASA and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). Other contributors include NTT DATA Italia, GVM Assistance, and Formula Medicine.
The event comes amid significant growth in the Italian aerospace sector. According to data from CTNA-Confindustria presented to the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the Italian aerospace industry reached a turnover of 21.4 billion euros in 2024, with the space segment growing by 63% since 2021.
