IEM-UEM Group launches SCNTSE 2026 exam to identify India's top science talent

The Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) and the University of Engineering & Management (UEM) Group held the first round of the Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti National Talent Search Examination (SCNTSE‑2026) on 1 August 2026. More than 850 Class XII students from across India sat for a multiple‑choice paper covering physics, chemistry, mathematics and English at IEM’s Salt Lake and New Town campuses.

The exam, named after the late founder Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, will continue with a descriptive written test on 9 August and a final stage on 22 August that includes personal interviews and science‑project presentations. Top performers will receive scholarships totalling INR 10 lakh and Certificates of Excellence, while all participants will be awarded certificates. Schools from Kolkata and West Bengal, including St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, La Martiniere and Don Bosco, were prominently represented.
