IFAD concludes rural development mission in Entre Ríos

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has concluded its mission in the Argentine province of Entre Ríos. The mission, which involved two weeks of field visits and technical evaluations, focused on assessing the region's productive capacity and rural development policies.

Guillermo Bernaudo, the Minister of Economic Development, expressed appreciation for the experts' efforts in examining the local productive reality. Laura Mattioli, IFAD's country director for Argentina, Paraguay, and Peru, highlighted the province's latent potential in sectors such as dairy, livestock, and cheese production. She expressed optimism regarding the possibility of seeing Entre Ríos-branded products in European supermarkets within the next 10 to 15 years.

Technical Leader Luiz Marques Campos noted that the mission was preceded by preparatory meetings with various stakeholders, including dairy cooperatives, meatpacking plants, and peasant organizations, to establish a foundation for evaluating family farming and public agricultural policies.
