İffet Tekin revives childhood passion for painting at age 65
İffet Tekin, a 72-year-old resident of the Çerkezköy district in Tekirdağ, has revitalized her childhood passion for art after returning to painting at the age of 65. For the past seven years, Tekin has been producing regular works, including nature landscapes, portraits, and street scenes, which now decorate the walls of her home.
Originally from Akıncılar, Sivas, Tekin's talent was first recognized by a high school teacher in Istanbul. Although she stepped away from art for many years, she decided to master oil painting at 65. Lacking access to formal courses, she taught herself by following painting instructors and tutorials online. She currently completes a new painting approximately every three days.
