iFi Audio announces UP Play and UP Play Max Bluetooth transmitters

iFi Audio has announced the release of the UP Play and UP Play Max, a pair of compact Bluetooth transmitters designed to enhance audio quality across various source devices. The UP Play Max specifically supports aptX Lossless, which aims to provide CD-quality audio via Bluetooth, and is intended to improve compatibility for both iOS and Android users. For Apple users, the device can unlock higher-resolution streaming from services like Apple Music, Spotify Lossless, and Qobuz.

Key features of the UP Play Max include Auracast compatibility, which allows for broadcasting audio to an unlimited number of compatible listeners, and the ability to connect two pairs of headphones simultaneously using the SBC codec. The device also includes K2 Technology to restore harmonic content and a low-latency mode via the aptX Adaptive codec for gaming and TV use. Additionally, the transmitters feature built-in microphones with Qualcomm cVc noise suppression for clear calls and in-game communication. The UP Play is priced at £59, while the UP Play Max is priced at £89.
