Swedish club IFK Göteborg announced the termination of head coach Stefan Billborn’s contract following a 1‑2 home loss to Estonia’s Levadia Tallinn in the UEFA Conference League qualifying round and a disappointing league campaign that left the team in 13th place in the Allsvenskan.

Club director Jesper Jansson thanked Billborn for his professionalism and contributions, noting his role in previous league successes. Assistant manager Joachim Björklund was promoted to head coach, tasked with reviving the squad’s performance and restoring pride among supporters.

The change comes as IFK Göteborg seeks to improve its position in domestic competition and advance in European qualifiers, aiming to break a recent run of poor results.
