IFK Mariehamn defeats SJK 2–0 for first seasonal victory

IFK Mariehamn secured their first victory of the Veikkausliiga season with a 2–0 win against SJK at home. The match featured goals from Rui Monteiro in the 18th minute and Noah Nurmi in the 48th minute.

Monteiro opened the scoring following a counter-attack after receiving a pass from Arvid Bergvik. Despite SJK controlling more possession in the second half, they struggled to break through Mariehamn’s defense. SJK coach Jarkko Wisson expressed significant disappointment following the match, noting that the team was collectively weak and struggled under the opponent's press.
