IFMS restores seized electric wheelchair for elderly home
Students and professors from the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) in Três Lagoas have successfully restored an electric wheelchair valued at R$ 20,000. The equipment had previously been seized by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) after being used for drug trafficking.
The restoration process, conducted at the IFMaker laboratory, involved repairing the upholstery, revising the electrical system, and updating the mechanics to accommodate a more affordable national battery. The refurbished wheelchair was donated to a local nursing home to improve the mobility and care of the elderly residents.
