IFSP contributes to anti-racist early childhood education guide
The Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies Center (Neabi) of the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) has participated in the creation of the ‘Cartilha de Práticas Pedagógicas para uma Educação Infantil Antirracista’ (Pedagogical Practices Guide for Anti-Racist Early Childhood Education).
Developed by the ERÊS Program, the guide provides pedagogical proposals aimed at promoting racial equity and valuing Black and Indigenous cultures from early childhood. The initiative, which received funding from Federal Deputy Macaé Evaristo, seeks to combat racism, challenge stereotypes, and foster inclusive school environments through ancestrality and playfulness.
The publication aligns with the objectives of the National Policy for Equity, Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations, and Quilombola School Education (PNEERQ). It is available for free download and serves as a resource for revising educational practices and strengthening the self-esteem and sense of belonging of Black and Indigenous children.
