IFSP launches public consultation on student representation regulations

The Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) opened a public consultation on a draft resolution that will regulate student bodies such as grêmios estudantis, centros acadêmicos, diretórios centrais estudantis and associações atléticas. The consultation began on 6 August 2026 and will remain open until 8 September 2026. Participants may submit suggestions, additions or deletions through an online form.

After the consultation closes, a commission will have 30 days to review the contributions and compile a final version of the resolution. The proposed rules aim to strengthen student representation by defining the creation, recognition, organization, rights, duties, electoral processes, use of institutional spaces and support for student activities.

The initiative seeks to broaden student participation in campus life, encourage academic, scientific, cultural and sports activities, and promote civic formation and the defence of student rights across all IFSP campuses.
