IFSP Itapetininga Symphonic Band wins state championship

The IFSP Itapetininga Symphonic Band won the ‘Maestro Jairo Farias’ State Band and Fanfare Championship held in Santa Rita do Passa Quatro. The ensemble secured the title in the youth category and also participated in the senior category, performing a technically complex repertoire.

Carolina Mandarini Dias, the general director of the Itapetininga campus, noted that the band has achieved this success in just over a year of existence. She emphasized that the result reflects the collective work of students, staff, and the local community.

The victory qualifies the band for a national stage. The institution is currently evaluating whether to compete in the Brazilian Band and Fanfare Championship in Paraíba or the National Confederation of Bands and Fanfares Championship in Rio de Janeiro, both scheduled for November.
