IFSP releases fourth edition of Neabi Indica cultural guide
The Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies Center (NEABI) at the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) has released the fourth edition of ‘Neabi Indica’. This publication compiles texts, visual works, and audio productions related to African, Afro-Brazilian, and Indigenous cultures.
The edition focuses on art and cultural manifestations to support educational practices. It aims to provide teachers across various IFSP courses with references that incorporate dimensions such as orality, ritual, movement, and ancestrality, moving beyond Eurocentric perspectives. Curators Monique Reis and Rosa Amélia Barbosa stated that the material serves as a bridge between academic knowledge and ancestral memories, recognizing art as a territory of resistance.
