IGA 2027 announces program details for Ruhr region exhibition

The International Garden Exhibition (IGA 2027) has announced preliminary programming details for its upcoming event in the Ruhr region. A highlight for the opening weekend, scheduled for April 24, will feature a concert by musician Kamrad near the ‘Wolke’ attraction.

Unlike traditional federal garden shows limited to a single city, IGA 2027 will span the entire Ruhr metropolitan region over 178 days. The project, organized by the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) and local municipalities, expects approximately 3.1 million visitors. The exhibition follows a three-tier concept involving five main locations, including core parks in Dortmund, Duisburg, and Gelsenkirchen, as well as projects in Lünen and the Emscherland. The program aims to showcase both the region's greenery and its cultural diversity through sports, theater, dance, and art.
