IGA 2027 Future Gardens host construction festival in Ruhr region

In preparation for the International Garden Exhibition (IGA) 2027, five 'Future Gardens' in the Ruhr region are hosting a joint construction and family festival on October 10, 2026. While sites in Duisburg, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, and Lünen remain active construction zones, the Emscherland Future Garden in the Castrop-Rauxel area is already largely developed as a nature and water experience park.

Visitors to the Emscherland site can participate in free 90-minute guided tours to learn about the park's development and the vision for the 2027 exhibition. The event includes a family program featuring music, children's animation, and food services. Additionally, day tickets for the other IGA Future Gardens and permanent passes will become available for purchase during the festivities.
