Iga Świątek ends tennis season early to focus on recovery

Polish tennis player Iga Świątek has announced the conclusion of her season to prioritize physical regeneration and rest. Following an intense period of competition and dealing with a left thigh injury, Świątek stated on Instagram that she needs more time to recover her strength.

As a result of this decision, Świątek will not participate in the WTA Finals, marking the first time since 2020 that she will miss the season-ending event. She noted that while the recent months were challenging, she is proud of her progress and intends to return with renewed passion and motivation.

Former world number one Kim Clijsters expressed support for the decision, noting that Świątek likely considered this carefully. Clijsters emphasized the importance of listening to one's body to avoid long-term injuries that could impact future seasons.
