Iga Świątek gears up for North American swing with new training gear

Former world No. 4 Dominika Cibulková praised Polish tennis star Iga Świątek, calling her "my favourite player" and noting that her biggest opponent is often herself. Cibulková said the 25‑year‑old can regain her top form and regain the WTA No. 1 ranking.

Świątek posted Instagram Stories showing a training session in which she used a water‑filled Tidal Tank backpack, a device that creates an unstable load to develop functional strength and balance. She asked fans to guess the weight of the load, offering 5 L, 10 L and 20 L as options.

The champion, who fell to the third round at Wimbledon and dropped to eighth in the world rankings, is preparing for the WTA 1000 events in Toronto (August 2‑13) and Cincinnati (August 13‑23) before heading to the US Open. She will defend the title she won at the same events last year.
