Iga Świątek shifts focus to North American events after Wimbledon loss
Polish tennis star Iga Świątek was eliminated in the third round of Wimbledon 2026 by Philippines' Alexandra Eala, ending her bid to defend the title. Following the defeat, her manager Daria Sulgostowska confirmed that Świątek will compete in the National Bank Open in Toronto (2‑13 August), the Cincinnati Open (13‑23 August) and then the US Open in New York (30 August‑13 September).
The loss also sparked criticism of Świątek's mental‑coaching setup. Eurosport commentator Lech Sidor questioned the effectiveness of psychologist Daria Abramowicz, suggesting the player has not received adequate mental tools for high‑pressure matches.
