Polish world No. 1 Iga Świątek failed to defend her Wimbledon title, losing in the third round to Aleksandra Eala 6‑7(9), 2‑6. The early exit contributed to a slide in her WTA ranking, where she now sits eighth, while alternative Elo calculations place her 15th globally.
