Igea approves disposal plan for nearly 4,000 Sardinian properties
Sardinia's regional council approved Igea's plan to manage and dispose of almost 4,000 real‑estate assets spread across 28 municipalities in the Iglesiente, Guspinese and Arburese areas. The inventory includes mineral‑treatment plants, residential units, offices, warehouses, historic buildings, agricultural land, buildable urban zones, green spaces and industrial sheds. Except for properties required for Igea's core functions, all assets will be sold or transferred to public or private entities.
A digital catalogue of the properties will be made public by 30 October, and a formal notice of sale is scheduled for release before the end of the year. Regional Industry Assessor Emanuele Cani described the initiative as a “virtuous” step that will generate new opportunities, add economic value and address safety and environmental risks linked to abandoned sites.
