IGESA Village Club hotel receives five-star reviews from Vuelta riders

During the third stage of the 2026 Vuelta a España, a violent hailstorm in the Pyrenees forced the cancellation of the race near the Col de Mont-Louis. As temperatures dropped sharply, approximately 180 professional cyclists sought emergency shelter from the ice and torrential rain.

The IGESA Village Club Mont-Louis Les Sorbiers, located near the race route, provided refuge for the peloton. Hotel staff responded to the unannounced arrival of the soaked athletes by providing towels, warm drinks, and a safe space to wait for team vehicles.

In a show of gratitude, numerous riders and teams, including Uno-X Mobility and Team Picnic PostNL, flooded the hotel’s online profiles with five-star reviews. Cyclists praised the staff for their rapid response and the hospitality shown during the extreme weather event.
