Iggy Azalea returns to the studio after announcing retirement

Rapper Iggy Azalea has announced her return to the recording studio, signaling a potential comeback to the music industry after previously declaring her retirement.

Sharing the news via Instagram, the Australian-born artist posted photos from a studio session alongside a candid update regarding her relationship with her craft. Azalea noted that despite her desire for privacy and previous statements about leaving the industry, she felt a need to return to music to avoid running away from herself. She described the decision as making her feel energized and concluded her post with the message, “Baby steps my darlings but I fear I may be coming…”

This development follows several years of conflicting statements regarding her career. In 2024, Azalea indicated she would not finish her next album, and in November 2025, she stated, “I don’t want to come back.”
