Ignacio Buse named alternate for Team World at 2026 Laver Cup

Peruvian tennis player Ignacio Buse has been named as an alternate for Team World in the 2026 Laver Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 27 at The O2 Arena in London.

Buse, who recently reached a career-high ATP ranking of 30 and secured titles in Hamburg and Winston-Salem, will join a roster including Taylor Fritz, Alex de Miñaur, Alexander Bublik, Brandon Nakashima, Learner Tien, and Francisco Cerúndolo. The team will be led by captain Andre Agassi and vice-captain Patrick Rafter.

As an alternate, Buse will participate in official team activities and training sessions, remaining available to compete should any of the primary six players be unable to play due to injury or illness. This marks the first time a Peruvian player has been included in the Laver Cup lineup.
