Ignacio Buse wins Winston-Salem ATP 250 ahead of US Open
Peruvian tennis player Ignacio Buse has achieved a historic milestone by winning the ATP 250 Winston-Salem tournament. At 22 years old, Buse defeated Britain’s Arthur Fery 6-3, 6-2 in the final, marking his first ATP title on hard courts and his second title of the season following his victory at the ATP 500 in Hamburg.
This victory has propelled Buse to a career-high ATP ranking of 30. He also earned $112,420 for his performance. Due to his recent success and the withdrawal of several top-ranked players, Buse has entered the US Open 2026 as the 32nd seed.
Buse is scheduled to make his US Open debut on September 1, 2026, facing American Marcos Giron in the first round. The match will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
