Ignacio Candiani typography manual released in new edition

At the VIII International Book Fair of University Students (Filuni), the fourth edition of the 'Manual de tipografía de Ignacio Candiani' was presented. This publication is a facsimile version of a manual from 1894, originally used to teach the printing trade in Mexico during the late 19th century.

Carlos Francisco Gallardo Sánchez, director of Publications and Editorial Promotion at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), noted that the original work was a modest booklet produced during a period of paper scarcity. The new edition includes historical and technical context provided by Ana Paulina Calvillo, Juan Pascoe, and Francisco José Ruiz Cervantes. The volume aims to preserve a significant piece of Mexican graphic arts history, as it may be the only recorded Mexican manual of its kind from that era.
