Torino Football Club announced the official appointment of former Milan defender Ignazio Abate as the new head coach. The contract runs for two seasons, from 1 July 2026 until 30 June 2028, with the aim of starting a new technical cycle for the granata.

Abate left his previous role at Juve Stabia, where he guided the team to the playoff semifinals, before signing the deal with Torino. Former Milan executive Adriano Galliani praised the choice, calling Abate “the right man” to steady the club and improve its league position. Earlier in the season, Torino had dismissed Roberto D'Aversa after he helped the side avoid relegation, confirming the club’s shift toward a younger coaching profile.

The appointment has been welcomed by fans and club officials as a fresh start ahead of the upcoming Serie A campaign.
