Ignazio Abate named Torino coach following departure from Juve Stabia

Serie A club Torino has appointed former Juve Stabia manager Ignazio Abate as its new head coach. The appointment follows a mutual termination of Abate's contract with Juve Stabia, ending his 2025‑26 season after guiding the Serie B side to a playoff spot for a second consecutive year.

During his spell at Juve Stabia, Abate recorded 12 wins, 19 draws and 11 defeats, helping the team secure a comfortable league finish and a semifinal appearance in the promotion playoffs. In a farewell message on social media, he thanked the players, staff and the city of Castellammare di Stabia, saying, "From today you will have one more fan," and expressed gratitude for the support he received.

Torino expects Abate’s experience and tactical approach to boost their campaign in the top flight, aiming to improve their league position and compete for higher honors in Italian football.
