Ignazio Messina & C. to launch West Med Line in September

Ignazio Messina & C. has announced the launch of its new West Med Line, an integrated maritime service scheduled to begin in September 2026. The new network consolidates the company’s existing services to Algeria and Libya into a single rotation across the Western Mediterranean.

The standard route will start and end in Castellon, Spain, with stops in Barcelona, Fos (France), Genoa (Italy), Misurata (Libya), Tripoli (Libya), and Algiers (Algeria). The company plans to maintain regular departures from Spanish and French ports approximately every ten days.

This reorganization aims to improve transit times for cargo arriving via the Suez Canal by utilizing connections through Misurata. The service is designed to enhance connectivity between Spanish, French, Italian, Libyan, and Algerian markets, offering more flexible transportation options and improved efficiency.
