IGNOU Extends July 2026 Admission Deadline to August 16

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has pushed back the final date for fresh admissions to its July 2026 academic session to 16 August 2026. The extension applies to all programmes offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes, covering undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate courses such as BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, MA, MBA, MCA and MCom.

Applicants must use the university’s Samarth portals – the ODL admission portal for distance‑learning programmes and the Samarth Online Programmes portal for fully online courses – to register, verify their details via OTP, select a programme, upload required documents and pay the applicable fee. IGNOU advises candidates not to wait until the last moment to avoid technical issues.

The deadline extension provides additional time for thousands of students and working professionals who were unable to complete their applications before the original cut‑off, helping them secure admission to a flexible higher‑education option.
