Igor Grosu marks one year since PAS parliamentary victory in Moldova

Igor Grosu, leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), has marked the one-year anniversary of the party’s victory in Moldova’s parliamentary elections. Reflecting on the results from September 28, 2025, where PAS secured 50.20% of the vote and an absolute majority, Grosu stated that the government’s core objectives remain focused on strengthening state institutions, restarting the economy, and consolidating the rule of law.

Grosu emphasized that the election results represented a choice by Moldovan citizens to pursue a European path rather than falling under Russian influence. He also addressed public concerns regarding rising energy costs, specifically increases in natural gas and heating tariffs. To mitigate these economic shocks, the government plans to introduce heating compensation and target VAT and excise revenues toward those in greatest need.

In his assessment of the past year, Grosu claimed the administration has achieved the highest rate of reforms among EU candidate countries, though he acknowledged that errors occurred and were addressed.
