Igor Janusev addresses corruption investigation involving government driver
Igor Janusev, the Secretary-General of the Government, has issued a statement regarding a corruption investigation involving a driver employed by his office. Janusev expressed full support for the actions taken by anti-corruption institutions and praised the citizen who reported the attempted bribery.
Janusev emphasized a policy of zero tolerance for corruption, stating that individuals must be held accountable regardless of their function or political affiliation. He explicitly distanced himself from the actions of the detained individual, noting that the driver has only been in the position for approximately six months and that the illegal conduct was entirely the personal responsibility of the employee.
Furthermore, Janusev criticized the SDS (Social Democratic Union) for attempting to turn the specific incident into a political construction, labeling such attempts as unserious and politically poor.
