Igor Kokoskov criticizes former Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd

Former Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Igor Kokoskov has criticized former head coach Jason Kidd, stating he does not have a good opinion of him as a person or a coach. Speaking on the Serbian YouTube channel ‘Xs and Os Chat’, Kokoskov distinguished between Kidd’s legendary playing career and his tenure as a coach.

While praising Kidd as one of the greatest playmakers in basketball history, Kokoskov claimed he had a poor experience working under him during the 2021-22 season. He suggested that Kidd’s reputation as a coach is bolstered by the talent of the rosters he has led, such as those in Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and Dallas, rather than his own coaching abilities.

Kokoskov also touched upon his relationship with star player Luka Doncic, whom he previously coached for the Slovenian national team. He noted that while he attempted to use his familiarity with Doncic to benefit the team, his professional experience with Kidd remained negative.
