Leeds United monitors Igor Paixao amid Marseille financial pressure

Leeds United is reportedly monitoring Marseille winger Igor Paixao as the French club faces financial constraints. Following his €35 million move from Feyenoord in 2025, Paixao has struggled to replicate his previous form, recording no goals and only one assist in the current season.

Marseille’s need to manage its wage bill and comply with financial regulations may force a sale. While Leeds has tracked the Brazilian winger since his time in the Eredivisie, reports suggest a deal is more likely to materialize in the summer rather than the January transfer window.

Although Marseille originally sought a higher valuation, analysts suggest an agreement could be reached if the club reduces its asking price, which is currently estimated to be around €30 million. Paixao has indicated that a departure is not entirely out of the question.
