Igor Paixão expresses dream of joining Flamengo

Igor Paixão, the 26-year-old Brazilian winger for Olympique de Marseille, has publicly expressed his lifelong dream of playing for the Brazilian club Flamengo. In recent interviews, Paixão confirmed that while his agents have had contact with both Flamengo and Palmeiras, no concrete transfer offers have been made and no immediate move is planned.

Paixão emphasized his commitment to Marseille for the current season, noting that he chose to stay to support the team during a difficult period where the club is unable to make new signings. He stated, “I really didn't want to leave, I don't want to leave. I also chose to stay to help my team.”

Despite his long-term aspirations to play in the Premier League or return to Brazil to fulfill a childhood dream, Paixão remains under contract with Marseille until 2030. His decision to stay comes amid a challenging start to the season for the French club, which currently sits in 17th place in Ligue 1.
