Igor Protti documentary wins Cinema e Sport award at Cilento Fest

The documentary ‘Igor. L’eroe romantico del calcio’, directed by Luca Dal Canto, has won the ‘Cinema e Sport’ award at the 2026 Cilento Fest. The film explores the life and career of Igor Protti, a prominent footballer known for his time with clubs such as Livorno, Bari, Messina, Lazio, and Napoli.

Directed by Dal Canto with contributions from Alberto Battocchi and Anita Galvano, the film utilizes archival footage, interviews, and personal testimonies to depict Protti’s journey from his early days at Rimini to his impactful years at Livorno. The documentary has received several accolades this year, including a selection at Bif&st 2026 and being designated as a ‘film d’essai’ by the Ministry of Culture.
