Igor Štimac considers entering politics and criticizes regional leaders
Former Croatian national football coach and current Zrinjski trainer Igor Štimac has announced that he is considering entering politics. During an appearance on the Slobodan podcast, Štimac stated he has been contemplating political involvement for over three years, driven by a desire to address societal degradation and perceived incompetence in leadership.
Štimac offered sharp critiques of the current political landscape in both Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He described the Možemo party as a “sect” and argued that the HDZ no longer sufficiently represents its founding conservative values. He also criticized SDSS President Milorad Pupovac, calling him a “cynic” who acts against the interests of the Croatian state.
Regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina, Štimac remarked that the country does not function as a normal state and suggested that a new generation of leaders is needed to replace current politicians. He expressed interest in potentially forming a new political option consisting of independent, successful individuals rather than joining existing parties.
