Igor Toshevsky and OPA Open 'Break in Motion' Exhibition at Skopje Museum of Contemporary Art
On July 29 at 20:00, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje opened the exhibition “Break in Motion,” featuring works by artist Igor Toshevsky and the artistic collective OPA (Obsessive Possessive Aggression). The show examines how minor shifts, interruptions and displacements can reveal hidden structures in everyday institutional life, treating art as a tool for de‑constructing power rather than merely illustration.
Organiser Vladimir Jančevski notes that the exhibition questions the routines that shape reality, while Toshevsky’s practice focuses on the intersection of political authority, post‑socialist contexts and freedom of expression. OPA, founded by visual artists Slobanka Stevčeška and Denis Saraginovski, extends the dialogue through interventions in public space, tactical media, and “mockumentary” forms, using art to spark public debate about ideology and institutional mechanisms.
