Igreja Universal to exit Band, Canal 21, and CNT programming
The Universal Church is reevaluating its television space rental strategy. Following the announcement that it will leave Band's early morning programming on November 20, the church is also expected to exit Canal 21 and CNT soon. Sources indicate that both Canal 21 and CNT have already been notified regarding the non-renewal of their contracts.
Market analysts suggest that religious institutions are increasingly shifting toward social media and YouTube for broadcasts and content clips, as these platforms offer a more cost-effective alternative to traditional television. This shift has led to a decrease in interest for renting television time slots, which previously saw high demand.
In response to the vacancy at CNT, independent production companies are reportedly being contacted to fill the time slots. Meanwhile, the television industry faces broader economic concerns, including a potential retraction in advertising revenue as companies shift budgets toward digital platforms and seek more immediate, measurable results.
