Iguá Saneamento targets 99% water coverage by 2033

Iguá Saneamento has announced plans to reach 99% water coverage and 90% sewage coverage by 2033 across its various contracts. The company's CEO, René Silva, highlighted that the firm intends to invest 6.3 billion reais in the state of Sergipe throughout its concession period.

In the first 15 months of the Sergipe operation, the company has already invested 430 million reais and constructed 24 pipelines in the Alto Sertão region. Currently, Iguá serves approximately 6 million people across 120 municipalities in six states, maintaining a 93% water supply coverage and 37% sewage coverage rate across its entire portfolio.

Beyond infrastructure expansion, the company is focusing on reducing physical water loss, which currently stands at 44.8%. Silva noted that achieving universalization requires rigorous project execution, technological investment, and staff training to meet established budgets and deadlines.
