Igualada-Barcelona bus service faces recurring delays and poor conditions

The local movement Ara Igualada has reported recurring issues with the bus service connecting Igualada and Barcelona following the start of the new academic term. Users are facing constant delays, service incidents, and unreliable information regarding arrival times.

Reports indicate that several vehicles are in poor condition, featuring damaged windows, dirty or deteriorated seats, and leaking air conditioning units. Additionally, mechanical breakdowns have left passengers stranded mid-journey.

Spokespersons for Ara Igualada, Xavi Grados and Alícia Fernández, have called for structural changes rather than temporary fixes. The movement is demanding increased service frequency, more capacity during peak morning and evening hours, expanded weekend services, and the creation of a night service. They are also calling for an effective control system for the concession, including transparent quality indicators and real sanctions for repeated service failures.
