Igualada hosts exhibition on 1970s political activism

The Central Library of Igualada will host an exhibition titled ‘Dèiem NO. Igualada per la llibertat als 70’, focusing on the political and social activism of the 1970s during the final years of the Franco regime and the Spanish Transition.

The exhibition, which runs from October 15 to November 14, utilizes personal testimonies and documents to explore themes such as clandestine politics, the Democratic Assembly of Igualada, labor struggles, and the transition to democratic institutions. The inaugural event includes a roundtable discussion featuring activists Salvador Puig, Sebastián Vergara, and Toni Pàmies to discuss the risks of clandestine activism and the involvement of youth during that era.
