Igualada to host 11th Gastronomic Day of Forgotten Plants

The Eixarcolant Collective is seeking more than 200 volunteers for the 11th Gastronomic Day of Forgotten Plants, scheduled to take place in Igualada on Saturday, September 26.

The event aims to promote ethnobotany and advocate for the potential of forgotten plants, including edible wild species and traditional agricultural varieties. The collective views these resources as tools for transitioning toward more sustainable, ethical, and just food systems.

The program will feature culinary proposals, cultural activities, workshops, and presentations from international experts. The event is expected to host over one hundred stallholders, chefs, workshop leaders, and speakers from various regions.

Interested volunteers can choose their preferred schedules and areas of collaboration through the Eixarcolant website. No prior knowledge of plants is required to participate.
