The city of Iguape hosted the traditional Festa do Senhor Bom Jesus de Iguape from July 28 to August 6, 2026. The religious event drew more than 200,000 pilgrims from various parts of Brazil to the Basilica Sanctuary of Senhor Bom Jesus.
The 2026 celebration commemorated the 170th anniversary of the completion of the current Basilica Sanctuary, which was finished in 1856. The festivities featured an extensive religious program, including numerous masses and spiritual services led by priests and clergy from the Diocese de Registro to serve the large number of devotees.
