Iguaçu National Park opens new visitor center in Rio Azul
A new visitor center has opened at the Rio Azul hub in Céu Azul, providing free access to the Iguaçu National Park. The revitalized structure, covering approximately 3,325 square meters, was developed through a partnership between the concessionaire Urbia+Cataratas and the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio).
The facility is designed to serve schools, researchers, tourists, and local residents. It includes an auditorium, a cafeteria, an inclusive playground, a multi-sport court, and accessible restrooms. Improvements were also made to the external area, including an expanded parking lot for cars, buses, and motorhomes, as well as enhanced signage for the Trilha das Perobas, Ecotrilha Manoel Gomes, and the walking track.
This project is part of the Iguaçu National Park 2030 Plan, which outlines R$ 600 million in planned investments to expand visitation infrastructure and strengthen environmental conservation.
