Iguaçu National Park reports record visitors and seasonal updates

Iguaçu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Brazil, is experiencing seasonal changes and operational updates. The arrival of spring is revitalizing the Atlantic Forest landscape, bringing increased flowering and fruit availability, which in turn intensifies fauna activity. Notable wildlife sightings during this period include various species of surucuá birds, toucans, hummingbirds, and coatis.

In terms of visitor logistics, the park recorded a record 2,058,539 visitors in 2025. For 2026, ticket prices for Brazilian residents and Mercosul citizens are set at R$ 121, while foreign visitors will pay R$ 134.

To support conservation efforts, certain areas are undergoing temporary closures. The Canafístula Trail and the Apepu Trail are closed until October 12 for wildlife monitoring campaigns. Additionally, the Caminho das Bananeiras is closed for construction work. Other major routes, such as the Cataratas Trail and the São João Circuit, remain open to the public.
