Jujuy winter tourism sees 503,000 overnight stays and $65 bn economic impact
During the July winter vacation period, the province of Jujuy recorded 503,246 overnight stays (pernoctes) and welcomed 162,524 tourists. The overall occupancy rate averaged 78.9% with visitors staying about 3.1 nights each. Economic activity generated by the influx surpassed 65.454 billion Argentine pesos, driven by spending on hospitality, food, transport and related services.
Regional performance varied: the Quebrada region led with 87.54% occupancy, followed by the Valles (72.89%), Yungas (70.19%) and Puna (56.97%). At the municipal level, Purmamarca posted the highest occupancy at 91.2%, with Tilcara (89.8%), Maimará (86.6%) and Humahuaca (83.2%) close behind. Minister of Culture and Tourism Federico Posadas said, "July confirms that Jujuy is one of the country’s preferred destinations and reflects the joint work of the public and private sectors."
