Unión Industrial Argentina calls for tax relief and economic support

Martín Rappallini, president of the Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA), has called for a “bridge” between the government and the industrial sector to restore economic activity and enhance competitiveness. Speaking at the 22nd Industry Day organized by the Unión Industrial de Entre Ríos (UIER) in Paraná, Rappallini emphasized the need to focus on microeconomics to stabilize the macroeconomy.

The UIA leader highlighted several critical challenges facing Argentine industry, including high tax pressure—particularly for SMEs—unfair competition from dumping and smuggling, limited financing, insufficient infrastructure, and educational gaps. He noted that industry is a vital space for accumulating the capabilities necessary for national development.

Local authorities also participated in the event. José Luis Walser, the mayor of Colón, attended to discuss strengthening economic ties and highlighted the creation of a new Agency for the Development of Colón to integrate productive and tourism policies.
